What we support:

Community:

  • Christmas Hampers for distribution by ‘Touch of Hope’ and for the families at Koongoora DV Shelter
  • Mother’s Day Gift Bags for Koongoora DV Shelter
  • Share the Dignity Bags
  • ‘Back Packs for Blokes’ distributed through Touch of Hope
  • Purchased a Washer and two Dryers for use at Kingston East Neighbourhood Centre – Tudor Park
  • Assisted with the purchase of Lounges for the Palliative Care Unit at Logan Hospital
  • Pride Of Workmanship, Vocational and Community Service Awards evening – combined with the Rotary Clubs of Beenleigh and Logan
  • Support of our foundation – The Rotary Foundation
  • Support for Polio Plus - for the eradication of Polio
  • Planted Peace Poles – to share the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”

  • Funded a Biogas unit in the Nakuru Biogas Project facilitated by the Rotary eNomads Club

Youth

  • We were proud to support our member Tammy Robinson and her charity ‘Formally Ever After’ with a donation of $2,000 in recognition of her OAM award
  • Sponsorship of the Science and Engineering Challenge
  • Support of students from Mabel Park High school to enable them to participate in a netball tour to Fiji
  • Sponsor a student to attend Rotary Youth Programs
    •  RYTS (Rotary Youth Transition Seminar – school leavers)
    • RYLA (Rotary Leadership Youth Awards – 20 – 30-year-olds)

DV Awareness

  • Regular Coffee Catch-up wearing our Purple Shirts to raise awareness of DV
  • Hosted ‘A Walk to say NO to DV’ at Alexander Clark Park followed by a community sausage sizzle

 

Support of local community groups with their fundraising events

  • Soroptimist Logan –
    • Sustainable Styles supporting the message of reducing waste through recycling, reusing and repurposing
    • Assisted with a Bunnings BBQ
    • Supported Orange Day in the Park
  • Rotary Club of Beenleigh
    • Volunteered at their Annual Cane Festival parade
  • Formally Ever After
    • assisted with the sale of raffle tickets at Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce Annual Prawn Day

 

 

Fundraising Activities

  • Club Beenleigh Raffles – Thankyou to Club Beenleigh for their support for the fundraising raffles held regularly
  • Bunnings BBQ –
  • Bicycle Network – is a large, coordinated active‑transport count conducted at intersections across Australia. It measures how many people commute by bike, e‑bike, and e‑scooter during the morning. The data helps councils understand commuter patterns and plan better bike lanes, crossings, and active‑transport infrastructure
  • Containers For Change – collection of returnable drink containers, sunders going to support our Christmas Hamper project
  • Movie Nights
    • Polio Plus Movie night held in October to support the eradication of Polio
    • Christmas Hamper Project movie night
  • Garage Sale to fund Christmas Hamper project
  • Cooked BBQ at the Logan City Council Environmental Awards Day 

 

The Fun:

  • Australia Day Coffee and Lamingtons in the Park enabled through a Grant from the Australia Day Council
    • Free coffee and lamingtons served at Alexander Clark Park for families in  the local community
  • Christmas in July hosted by members Kelvin & Sharon Hansen
  • Christmas Weekend at Bribie Island hosted by members Kelvin and Sharon Hansen
  • Celebrated 50 years of Club Beenleigh at family fun day
  • Bunnings Family nights BBQ
